Problem / Situation
A space with equally sized width, height and depth feels static and boring.
At the other extreme, a space that is much longer than it is wide suggests movement.
Solution
To create a space that is both interesting and restful, make it slightly longer than it is wide. No dimension (width, length or height) should be more than twice the size of any other dimensions. Think of the proportions of such a space as being similar to the proportions of a potato.
