A public place that is separate from the places people work, live, play, and shop do not become part of people's daily lives to the extent that they could.

Locate the other environments that people inhabit in their daily lives so that they are well connected to public places. Likewise, locate many smaller public places throughout a community so they public places and private places become woven into a fabric together.

Position public places so that they become part of the paths that people pass through when going from one building or environment to another.

Have pieces of a public place extend between buildings, or have parts of buildings extend into the public spaces to help weave them together.
